Owning a historic home means becoming a steward of history. It’s about living in the space while preserving its 150-year legacy, ensuring it stands strong for another 150 years. This home needed a balance of respect and preservation, while also being set free to express its vibrant spirit.
Originally built by a wood carver for his own family, the house is a showcase of intricate craftsmanship, with each room telling a story through carved moldings—a visual travel diary of symbols and patterns from a life of global exploration.
With its grand rooms, soaring ceilings, and large windows, the stage was set for a style we affectionately called “Traditional on Acid.” It’s a playful, bold mix of life, love, and eccentricity—a riot of color and creativity. This whimsical approach lets the home be a constantly evolving canvas of patterns and joy.
